Hi all,
we have released yet another set of features in the app – this time the features are about better controlling the commission for referred purchases in which a discount code was used.
You can find the new features in Affiliatly > Settings > General
– option “Cancel orders in which a coupon code was used”: with that option, you can make the app cancel all newly tracked orders in which a coupon code is used or a code which is not associated with any of your affiliates.
Note: this feature is available only for Shopify/Ecwid stores
– option “Cancel orders with coupon code where the discount is bigger than”: with that option, you can set that all purchases where the discount is bigger than the set by you value, to be automatically cancelled by the app, thus your affiliates will not get any commission for them.
Note: this feature is available only for Shopify stores
Note that the cancelled orders will still be tracked and inserted into the app, but their status will be “Hidden”, and your affiliates will not see them or get any earnings for them, but you can check them in your “Orders” page in Affiliatly.
These options are for cases, where the discount is lowering your profit and you can not allow affiliate commission for those orders.
We really hope that you will find these options useful!
Hi,
Does option 2 works also for promotions like ‘get the second one at 50%’ or BOGOF deals? Does the system calculates the value or does this works only in plain % discount codes?
Thanks for your feedback.
Hi Ludo, sadly I am not sure, can you please contact our support team and give us the IDs/names of few such orders i.e. where such promotions were used (‘get the second one at 50%’ or BOGOF), so we can check the order’s data and give you definite answer ?
Hi, can I clarify on the option “Cancel orders with coupon code where the discount is bigger than” – if the number is equal to the discount code, is that order approved or cancelled?
Eg. if the value is set to 9% and an order is placed using a discount code for 9% off, is that order approved or cancelled within affiliatly?
As a follow-up question, is it possible to use decimal points, so that by using 9.5%, discounts of 9% are allowed but orders of 10%+ are not?
Thanks for your help.
Hi David,
if the number is equal to the discount code, is that order approved or cancelled?
– if equal then the purchase will be approved, only when the discount value is bigger than the one which you have entered, the purchase will be cancelled.
if the value is set to 9% and an order is placed using a discount code for 9% off, is that order approved or cancelled within affiliatly?
– yes, the order will be approved
is it possible to use decimal points, so that by using 9.5%, discounts of 9% are allowed but orders of 10%+ are not?
– yes you can, decimal values are allowed!
Brilliant, thanks for the quick and detailed response.
No problems at all! 🙂
